Welcome To Our Blog

Hello Family and friends! I have decided that Jeff and I are so out of touch with a lot of people in our lives, and there's just no excuse for that. So, here's the solution! I'm not exactly new to the blogging world, I have a MySpace, but I've never had a spot that is just dedicated to my thoughts or the happenings in our little life. So please stop by every now and again so you can see how Jeff and I are doing. Jeff might even jump on here from time to time.

Home is where the heart is

Jeff and I are trying to save money to buy a house. Jeff's parents have been so great by letting us live with them for the past 5 months. I can't believe it's been that long already, but we're saving lots of money and hopefully we'll be purchasing a house in the near future. We keep talking eachother into staying just a couple more months. I think that we'll be able to go househunting by the end of April. We want to be able to get a 3 bedroom 2 bath house and still have a mortgage payment below 1300 dollars. I know...we must be dreaming! But if we put enough down, it might just happen. We don't mind buying a fixer upper, it just needs to have the shell of what we're looking for, like a working kitchen, and a garage. Those are the only deal breakers for us...that and having a living room roomy enough to fit our furniture. It's brand new and I love every single piece too much to not use it!

I don’t know the prices there, but we bought high and we pay a little over 1200 a month, for a really big 3-2 with a lg yard. And now prices are dropping, and dropping... so if you hold off a little longer they could drop a little more! The one across the street from us right now is a pre foreclosure and it is a 4 bedroom for sale for 30k less then we got ours! so I think the odds are in your favor!!

I know prices are dropping. The problem is that the houses in our range are not houses that are really worth buying. They're old and run down, with crazy floor plans, or the kitchen was an afterthought. We're just figure that we've sacrificed so much already, what's a few more months.
