Welcome To Our Blog

Hello Family and friends! I have decided that Jeff and I are so out of touch with a lot of people in our lives, and there's just no excuse for that. So, here's the solution! I'm not exactly new to the blogging world, I have a MySpace, but I've never had a spot that is just dedicated to my thoughts or the happenings in our little life. So please stop by every now and again so you can see how Jeff and I are doing. Jeff might even jump on here from time to time.

Bicycle...day 2

Okay, the first day did not go well. Sunday afternoon Jeff and I jumped on our bikes and headed down the street. Going down the road was a piece of cake, it was all downhill and we coasted the whole time. Coming back up was a different story! We turned around and I tried to pedal up the hill and before I knew it I was huffing and puffing, my legs were shaking, and I had sweat rolling down my face. That's not how I remembered it! It kind of scared me because I couldn't believe that I was that out of shape. I looked over and Jeff seemed to be doing just fine. When we got home, Jeff tried helping me figure out how to change my gears while riding. I was having a difficult time switching gears, watching for traffic, and pedaling up a hill. I also felt that the seat may have been a little too low. I had to walk the bike up Rick and Gloria's driveway. If I couldn't make it up a slight incline, there's no way I was going to be able to get myself up that driveway.

So, yesterday, Jeff and I decided to take a quick ride after work. I was dreading it the whole time. I wasn't sore from the day before, but I couldn't see how I was going to be able to ride again when I couldn't even make it up a street and back. Jeff helped me adjust my seat so I was sitting higher, he had also changed the gears. It turns out I was trying to pedal up that hill on one of the highest gears on the bike! No wonder I was struggling. We took a different route this time, and it was so much fun! We went up and down a few quiet streets and I wish we could have ridden longer. I still didn't make it up Rick and Gloria's driveway, but I'll get there.
