It's been a while since I've posted a blog....Things have been moving right along in our home.
Jeff had surgery to repair his shoulder last Thursday. Everything went great and now we're just looking forward to his full recovery. The Dr. says that he should be back to full use in no time, he just has to wear a sling for the next three weeks and then he'll start physical therapy. The first week was a little rough, the night he came home from surgery I ended up with the flu and the first few days we were both pretty much useless. Getting his prescription for his pain meds was another hastle. The Dr. who did the surgery works in Reno and apparently California pharmacies can't fill a prescription for pain meds unless it's written on a California prescription pad. Thankfully, we had some leftover from our visit to the ER to get him through the night. I took him to the clinic the next day and they wrote him a new script.
We have settled nicely into our new home. I think the living room, kitchen and dining room are done for now, I would just like to add a few more touches. I'm hoping that a new dining room table can be one of our next additions, but those are so expensive. I still need to paint the master bathroom, but I just can't bring myself to lift another paint brush! I'm hoping that I'll get the urge after Christmas, but since we're the only ones who go in there I guess there's no hurry!
Daisy Mae seems to be accepting a routine....finally! The last week that she's been home with Jeff seems to have helped her get over her fear of men. Except when she gets into trouble, which isn't often. She does really well with our visitors and LOVES children which is a blessing because Jeff and I plan on having a couple of those one day! It's almost like she can sense what child likes to play tag and what ones like to be left alone. She likes it when my friend JoAnna's son comes over, they chase each other around the house until one of them collapses from exhaustion.
Now, we are just looking forward to our Thanksgiving. We toyed around with the idea of hosting Thanksgiving at our house, but I'm not quite sure I'm ready for that. (Remember my want for a dining room table?) We're looking forward to visiting with our families and seeing some faces that we don't get to see very often. Can you believe it's that time of year again? It seems like I was just getting used to 2008 and soon it will be 2009!
