Just to keep everyone on their toes, I decided this site needs an update. In all honesty, this page was originally created before Annie or I had our own blogs, so it was a joint effort. We would both post here to keep our friends and family updated on what's going on. Since we got our own blogs, however, this site easily gets neglected.
Annie is still pregnant, so no news there. She's continuing on like a trooper, so hopefully everything continues to go well. She just had a baby shower this past weekend, and now we just have to find room for all of the gifts. Thank you to everyone who contributed. I feel like we just about have everything in place, and now all we're waiting on is the baby.
That is...after the nursery gets painted. That remains the one last chore to complete. We originally planned to paint it 2 weeks ago, but there was a minor setback with the paint color, so we've decided to go with a different color. The painting should, hopefully, be completed this weekend so we can start moving the furniture in.
Sorry about the delay in updating the page. In the mean time, continue to check our personal blogs as it seems we update those a bit more often.

Projects
There are so many things we would like to do to our house. Last year when we moved in we slapped a fresh coat of paint on all the walls and changed most of the light fixtures.
Now, we're moving on to bigger things. I know it's too early to start nesting, but there are certain things we want done to the house before baby Honea makes his/her arrival. When I think of everything we want do to, how much time we have to do it in, and how much money it will cost I start to get a little stressed but it will all be worth it in the long run. Here's just a few of the things on our to do list.
Project #1. NEW CARPET. It took us quite a while to decide that carpet was what we wanted. My parents just finished installing their pergo flooring throughout the entire house and it's beautiful. I'm more inclined to do that to a house that will be our home for a long time and we're only looking to stay in this house another 5 years or so.
Anyway, when we looked at the carpet at Robin's, the local carpet place in town, they quoted us something like $4,700.00! And that was for their cheapest carpet that we liked! We decided to look at Lowe's and found a really nice carpet for almost half the cost of Robin's, and they have a flat rate of $150.00 for installation. So hopefully come September we will be ripping out the old carpet and installing the new stuff. I can't wait!
Project #2. SOD. I've complained about our yard before on this blog. It's looking better now that all the trees have been removed. You can actually see our house from the street now. But we still have to rip out the big stump and dig up all the roots. And with that comes a higher water bill and the need for a lawn mower. I've thought about putting it off for another winter, but our front yard is an eye sore and it's really embarrassing, especially since our neighbors keep their yard pristine!
Project #3. THE BABY'S ROOM. I know I still have a lot of time to get everything ready. I don't even want to paint until we find out what we're having, but I still want to work on it. I haven't really paid much attention to this pregnancy yet with all of the things that's been happening in our lives and I feel like this is one way I can really focus on this little person. For now, I'd just like to get the room cleaned out. It's been used as our computer/junk room and it's getting out of hand. I know I would feel loads better if I got the room at least emptied before we find out the sex in September. Maybe that's what I'll do this weekend!

Feeling Blessed
Our first Dr.'s appointment was last Friday and Baby Honea is due sometime in late January 2010!
I will be updating how the pregnancy is going on my other blog, so if you want to be spared the gory details, don't click the link!

Who's Really in Charge?
Lately we have been inviting her on the big bed Saturday and Sunday mornings for some cuddle time. She loves it! We used to have a hard rule about her being on our bed, but I think the three of us really enjoy our Saturday and Sunday morning cuddle sessions.
We allow her on the bed, as long as we invite her. The moment she tries to jump up there on her own without an invitation, we tell her 'NO!' and shove her off the bed. After a few rounds of this game, Daisy got smart...
Friday night Jeff and I were sleeping when all of a sudden I'm woken up by a wiener dog flying up onto my body pillow, licking my leg, and wagging her tail like crazy! It was 2:00a.m., and she had waited for us to fall asleep! We had only been in bed for 2 hours!
Sometimes I wonder who she thinks really runs the show!

The Unsound Is Born
Since Annie has her own little area to do her thing, I thought it appropriate to do mine as well. You can find the link to The Unsound on the left.

Our Newest Purchase!
Jeff and I finally bit the bullet and bought a new car. We still kept my little white car, but it was time for something a little more adult and something with 4 wheel drive. Jeff's Camaro is more a Sunday drive kind of car these days, so it's nice to have to full-time working vehicles to help get us around.
It's a 2008 Toyota Rav4, and we love it! It's so much more roomy and much more comfortable to drive. We bought it from the Enterprise rental company in Reno. If you are looking for a car, they are the way to go! They were so nice and bent over backward to get us what we wanted. When we got to the lot the car that we wanted had been sold the day before. So they went online and found exactly what we wanted for the price that we wanted to pay. They shipped it to Reno from Colorado and it is in very good condition. Everyone was telling us to be careful because it had been a rental car, but it was just like buying a used car off a different lot, except we didn't have to deal with the slimy salesman.
It's nice not having to worry about getting around in the snow anymore. And, I had a feeling we weren't far away from my little white car needing a trip to the tune-up shop. This just makes it way more convenient.
The Tree
Here it is! The biggest worry that we've had since purchasing our home last year. It's a huge tree that was planted far too close to the house. The roots are growing under the house and pushing on the foundation, as well as popping up to the surface making it a challenge to walk around the yard. We considered trying to take it down ourselves. My dad has taken down many trees in the past, but this one is just too close to the house and our neighbors house to attempt it.
After a couple estimates from some tree removal services in town, Jeff and I decided that now is the time. We're hoping to have it ripped out by this time next month. It will be nice to just have it gone. Then the hard part starts. We have to dig all of the huge roots out of the yard before we can plant new sod. Some of the roots are large enough to look like another tree. I have a sneaking suspicion that this is the reason we got the house so low from the asking price.

Rick, Jeff's Dad
A toast for Jeff's birthday.
Rick is one of my favorite people on the planet! Probably because he reminds me so much of my husband. I swear Jeff is a carbon copy of his dad. They have the same crazy sense of humor and their mannerisms are exactly alike. I always look forward to going over for a visit. When Jeff and I moved into our own home, I found myself missing the time I spent visiting with him at the end of my work day.
His birthday was a few weeks ago and here's a picture of him with most of his presents. We got him the hat, Melanie sent him the shirt and Girl Scout Cookies. For any of you who know Rick, there's no such thing as too many cookies!

Just Because He Loves Me!
I was going to post this on my personal blog, but when your husband does something sweet and it's unexpected it should be shared with as many people as possible.
No News is Good News?
I don't have much to write about. Nothing much has changed since my last entry.
Jeff and I have been plugging along. Work is the same, always there. But we're very thankful for that. With the economy the way it is, we're just glad that we haven't had to worry about being layed off. We have many friends and family members who work for the state and are going to have to deal with having a smaller income.
The house is still here, and my to do list is ever present. I still haven't painted our master bathroom, but I did pick out the accessories. I'm one step closer!
We're looking forward to the coming month. Valentines Day has never really been a big deal for us, but February 15 marks Jeff's 29th birthday and the start of NASCAR season. All he wants to do for his birthday is stay at home, watch the race and maybe bbq a couple of steaks. He must be getting old! Hehe!
That's it! I told ya we didn't have much going on. But it's kinda nice to be able to relax for a change.
